Heaven is a Little Closer

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to share this fun little project with you before the new releases come out tomorrow.
I primed two small mini canvases size 2.5×2.5 with white gesso and spot painted and gently blended them with aqua acrylic paint and let it dry.
Meanwhile, I stamped and painted the High Hopes design, “Fox on the Beach”, from the “Spring is in the Air Collection”. I love this little fox! It’s just a happy, feel good image, with so many possibilities and endless color choices.
I didn’t have a stamp for this wonderful “Heaven” sentiment, so I printed it out with a coordinating color, and fussy cut it.

Once my canvases were dry, I added some netting, that I collected over the years. I then placed the sentiment on one canvas, and the fox on the other, and started playing around with the embellishments.
Being a self professed beach girl, of course I had sea shells of all sizes, shapes and colors in my stash which worked out perfectly for this project.
I connected the two canvases with a piece of natural straw raffia, and looped it on the top canvas to use as a way to hang the piece.
I incorporated a couple of paper roses in my piece as well for the final touch. Topped if off with a straw bow dotted with a White YNS Gumdrop and …there you have it!
If you don’t have these types of embellishments, no worries, they are available in craft & hobby stores as well.
Happy Stamping and don't forget the big day tomorrow when the new releases come out "Fairies & Adventurers" come out!!

Julie's Wish - Sneak Peek!

   Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

I hope you have been enjoying the sneak peaks of the Fairies & Adventurers new release on the blog this week. What a talented group of ladies!

The full release will be available tomorrow, May 1st! Whoo hooo!  Fairies and sentiments and adventurers - oh my!

My post today features Julie's Wish and a sentiment from the  Sentiment #1 set. I LOVE the sentiments that are in this release!

                                                         Donna

It is truly amazing (I have a few fellow designers who won't believe it <wink>) but I didn't have a patterned paper that fit the light, magical feel I wanted for this card.
So.....out came the ink pads and a sponge and away I went. It is the first time I have attempted to do a sponged background and I'm quite happy with it - for my first time. I sponged the Spellbinders die cut in the background and stamped the sentiment with Memento Rose Bud.

Julie is stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured with Spectrum Noir Markers, fussy cut and popped up with pop dots.

Spectrum Noir List:
Ribbon: BT3 BT4 BT5 BT7
Skin: FS2 FS3 TN2 1G1
Wings: 1G1 1G2 QG4
Eyes: BT2 BT3 BT4
Dress/Boots: PP1 PP3 PP4
Stars: CT1 CT2 CT4
Hair: TN3 TN6 TN7

Fairies and Adventurers Sneak Peak - Julie's Flight

Hello! MichelleO here today and I am have been having some fun with a sneak peek of one of High Hopes Newest images! Fun new images from"Fairies & Adventurers" collection -

This is Julie's Flight -

Isn't she pretty? I colored with Copics (colors below) and then had lots of fun adding bling from Diamond Stickles. Fairies just have to have some bling don't they?

I sewed down all the layers of papers from Kaisercraft Tropical Punch collection and Authentique Crush collection. Found some white lace that seemed to work perfectly with the papers as well. So I sewed it down as well.

The sentiment is also from the new release! Great sentiment with this collection.

Inside more of the same papers -

And the Copic colors used -

Loving this new release and make sure to visit the High Hopes Blog to see more each day!

Why did Brewster cross the road?

Hello High Hopes Fans

Did you see the new challenge?
The April Challenge can be found here.
It runs through 7pm EST Thursday, April 30th.

Jane

For today's card, I wanted more of a fun card with a farm theme to it!  We have a close friend, who is a chicken farmer, and I thought this would be a perfect card to give to him.  We have an on-going joke about, "Why did the chicken cross the road?"  No one seems to know the answer...lol!

The High Hopes Stamps I used for this card are:  Farm Background (R106), Brewster (H189), and Roadway (J019). These stamps have been available at High Hopes for awhile now, (they are not from the new release on March 19), but they are still very fun to use though!

The images were coloured with Copic Markers. A fair bit of chalking was used on this card - clouds, grass, and sunset/hills in the background.  Red stickles were added on the chicken's head and below his beak, and yellow stickles for the chicken's beak and feet. The letter's "WHY?" were stamped with individual letter stamps and embossed with black embossing powder.  Brewster was fussy cut and foam tape was used to pop him out, to make him look like he left the barn and crossed the road!

Supplies used

Ink - Coloured with Copic Markers, Black Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink Pad.

Paper - White and Black cardstock.

Misc - Chalk, Yellow and Red Stickles, Glue dots, Foam Tape.

Emilee and Lola - Lisa

Hello High Hopes Fans

Did you see the new challenge?
The April Challenge can be found here.
It runs through 7pm EST Thursday, April 30th.

This adorable image is a newly released High Hopes stamp called - Emilee and Lola (T500).  I coloured it with Copic markers (C1, E00, E01, E30, E31, E49, E71, E74, R20, R21, BG32, BG34, BG72, BG75, C3, C5, and 100).  The die cut is from Spellbinders-Fleur De Lis Squares die.  The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye-On Trend 6x6 Paper Pad, along with some Blush and White Cardstock.  The die cut was raised with foam tape, to give the card a bit of dimension.  Gold rhinestones and a couple of pieces of gold cord were also added, to match the gold flowers on the designer paper.

Have a great weekend!

The image was embossed in black onto watercolor paper and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os.
Then it was cut out and attached with foam tape.

Welcome Little One

                             Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

When I first saw this stamp my first thought was a Mother's Love......

This stamp is called Snuggles and Cuddles from the Spring Is In the Air release.

I thought about doing my card as a Mother's Day Card but chose instead to make it a baby card. I don't have anyone in my life at the moment who is having a baby but you never know when things can change so it will be nice to have it in my finished card stash.

I had an impromtu shopping trip at One Crazy Stamper a couple of weeks ago and one or my purchases was this Bundle of Joy paper from Echo Park. I really like the soft colours of this paper and thought it was perfect for this stamp.

I coloured this stamp with the following Spectrum Noir Markers: DG2 DG4
YG67 (Copic) TN3 TN6 CR2 FS8 CR5 PP1 PP3 PP5 BG5 BG7 BG10 GT1

Curious Bunny

Howdy -

MichelleO today and I had some fun with one of my favorite Bunny images -Curious Bunny

Sweet isn't she... I paired her up with lots of pink and white. The papers are from My Minds Eye Kate & Co. I colored with my Copics to match up with the papers. Then added a sentiment "Thinking of you and smiling!" I love sewing on my cards so I did some zig zag stitching and a little ribbon and mulberry flowers to finish it off.

The Copic colors used -

Happy bunny images do make you smile don't they? And I love the springy flowers. There are so many fun Spring images in the High Hopes Web Site - make sure to pop over and see all that is new and all the great favorite images!
